Clean House…Clear Paths…

Hello Darlings! Just dropping by to send greetings and say that Madame X has been busy “cleaning house”….both literally and figuratively!  It has been a few weeks of rearranging priorities, bouncing around new ideas and taking a moment to reflect.  Sometimes one can’t see the woods for the trees and we must take a step back in order to see the bigger picture.

I had a friend who recently sent me a little formula for a “Karma Cleanse”… and to be quite honest it could not have come at a better time.  Sometimes in the day to day we become wrapped up in bills, friend dramas, emails, our own insecurities and being “busy.”  I found it necessary to stop, take a deep breath and prioritize better. I have been trying to incorporate a bit of meditation, small goals for the day, and eating healthy.  It has made a big difference in my day.

Here is what you can do to implement a “Karma Cleanse” if you are feeling you need a daily boost of awesome!

Trick or Treats, Darlings!

Meeeow Darlings! Happy Halloween from Madame X

Darlings, whether you call it Halloween, Hallow’s Eve, Samhain or “pumpkin” flavor everything time…it is rather fun to dress up and indulge one’s sweet tooth!

One of my favorite memories was when my mother would make home made costumes.  One year she used a robe, a fan and sandals to make me into a lovely geisha girl, there was a costume contest at school and I came in top 3! It was so much fun and there was no need for elaborate expensive outfits. Use your imagination!

Pantone my mind…Mist me or Mauve it?

Hello Darlings! Madame X here…as a creative muse I often find myself surrounded by a plethora of colors, textures and titillating tactile treasures (say that 10 times quickly)!

As it is Fall, I was perusing the fashionable colors of the season and was intrigued by the Pantone palette. For those unfamiliar with Pantone, it is a company that devised its own standardization for colors. Pantone predicts and dictates the colors which will be most popular in the fashion, textile, makeup & design industries by closely monitoring trends and consumer tastes.

I must say, I am fascinated by the mauve and orchids, mystified by cypress and enthralled by royal blue. I even have the purrrfect little handbag to match! You can see it in more detail here:

On Wednesdays we wear black, Darlings!

Welcome to October, Darlings! My, how time flies! With the advent of all the new Fall shows, I am reminded that American Horror Story begins its 4th season next week and how wildly popular its Coven series catchphrase, “On Wednesdays we wear black,” influenced fashion. I’ve never seen such a proliferation of witchy couture creations, from severe Peter Pan collars, to flouncy Boho chic dresses reminiscent of the Wiccan chanteuse herself, Stevie Knicks…Darlings she is divine!
